Shawn and Sean

Yes- You are seeing right- Sean married Shawn on a VERY HOT Sunday in September, as a matter of fact- probably one of (if not) the hottest day of the year!

Shawn looked stunning- I spent the morning with Shawn and her bridesmaids before heading out to Pine Ridge Hollow for the second time in one fabulous weekend. Her flowers were beautiful!

This was a first- after years of shooting weddings I have never seen the groom play the processional down the aisle. Sean wrote a melody for the occasion. Very memorable!

I don't know if this was quite the vision I had for the picture below. Actually, the mosquitoes were so bad that we tried to ACTUALLY STAY IN THE SUN :) Not ideal, you would know if you do a lot of shooting. But after I got home and had a close look at an infamous jumping shot I gotta say, check out the second guy from the left....can I hire him to jump with all my wedding parties!? :)

This ring bearer was a cutie!!

Laura and Randy

What a long weekend!
The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and we all helped feed the mosquito counts of Manitoba :) Ironically, both my weddings for the weekend were both at Pine Ridge!

It was a fantastic day! Laura looked fabulous and the flowers were beautiful! The ceremony and lunch reception were both held at Pine Ridge Hollow- everything turned out so well- the meal was scrumptious and everyone had a wonderful time!

These gems below were beautiful and SO TASTY, I have to admit that mine didn't make it through the reception :) I LOVE cookie favours.

We used some of the Pine Ridge Hollow grounds for photos but Laura and Randy also took some time to head to Birds Hill Park for a few photos before the day ended. Being a crazy hot day, the beach was loaded with people who all had a smile on their faces when seeing the couple approach the sand. Everyone LOVES a wedding.

I have posted just a small recap from the wedding day below. Laura and Randy- thank you so much for letting me share the day with you. I had a wonderful time. You have wonderful friends and family. Have a great life together!

Sandra and Dave- Pine Ridge Wedding

Amidst days of rain, the sun didn't let us down on Sandra and Dave's wonderful wedding day.

Flowers by Monica at Timeless Florals

To make things less stressful on themselves and to get the best use of locations and time we did pictures before the ceremony. We started at Assiniboine park- in some not so frequently used spots and then carried on to where Sandra and Dave got engaged in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden.

Then to my most favorite back lane!

Pine Ridge Hollow is my most favorite venue. There isn't one time that I haven't been dazzled by the staff and service. I just love it.

It was VERY COOL that I got to see our stationary all set up! Everything matched and looked great!

Want to hear something really sweet. Sandra and Dave had each others rings engraved prior to the wedding but neither knew what each other had written. So as I photographed these rings, they still didn't know.... They were waiting for a moment where they could be by themselves and read them together. How do you sum up an emotion- a relationship- a life together- in words that will fit inside a wedding band?

Sandra's words to Dave "AMAZING MAN"

But you know what?- when I read what was inside Sandra's band I honestly melted. The most perfect words- how do you sum it up? Dave summed it up perfectly and you just would never guess what he had engraved into hers....

Saying Goodbye to August!

I couldn't leave August behind just yet!
The last weekend in August proved to be typical for Winnipeg- HOT! With temperatures reaching into the thirties and Sunday's humidity- every one deserved a pat on the back for enduring the photo sessions!

On the last Sunday of August I hung with my new bf (don't I wish) Rachel and her entourage. I had a wonderful time and really felt like my best friend was getting married. It was another Pine Ridge day. The gardens were in full bloom and everything (minus the humidity) was perfect!

Reagan and Jeff

If there is anything that this wedding season is teaching me it's that time is of the essence- and if you think that you have a great timeline...add some more time to it! :-)

Reagan and Jeff got married at Pine Ridge Hollow in a late afternoon ceremony. We used many of the Pine Ridges' charms for our photos and also ducked across the parking lot for some a not so typical set of photos that were my favorite of the day!

I know I mention it when ever I can but Pine Ridge is my favorite venue for overall service. Although I am not a fan of the gardens on those ultra sunny days, the atmosphere is well worth the booking. The food at Pine Ridge is wonderful and the staff is always so accommodating!

Stephanie and Lyall- Let the wind not blow us away! :-)

And the wind was out of this world!
This past weekends wedding was at one of my all time favorite venues, Pine Ridge Hollow. When I arrived back at Stephanie's home to do some getting ready pictures, her mom had a television on a weather network and looked rather nervous that a red bar across the screen warning of strong wind gusts was not going away.
Considering that the ceremony and pictures were all scheduled for outdoors this wasn't what we expected but we were going to make it work- with wind blown hair and all!

The flowers were again the beautiful master piece from Monica at Timeless Florals!

The gardens had yet to be planted and the trees were still quite bare but the ceremony was still beautiful. Some of the year round Pine Ridge accessories like the trellises and lawn ornaments maintained Pine Ridge's charm.

Wanna know what we did for a few shots? The lady running the greenhouse was nice enough to stay open for an extra 15 minutes so we could take a nice warm set of pictures!

Stephanie looked beautiful! Her hair held up against the ferocious winds and her makeup that was applied by Provici was perfect!

I have posted a small slide show from the day HERE
