What a gorgeous day and a gorgeous wedding that had a little bit or everything that I.LOVE. Purple shoes that matched the accent colors, a gorgeous bride with stunning eyes, a dress to die for, flowers by Monica, temperatures beyond outstanding, frosty trees, "Computer Paul" as my Hailey refers to him as (a friend of many years), a sun just starting to lower in the sky..... aha fantastic!. :)

Congratulations Amy and Paul- I am so happy you entrusted the day to me- next time we meet up for photos I hope we are all sweating buckets in a heated room waiting for a newborn to fall asleep ;)

Janele and Matt- New Years Eve. Wedding

It's funny in Winnipeg the difference a year can make. Last year, we couldn't even shoot outside because of the extreme deep freeze- this year Janele and Matt's wedding day started off with rain and wet roads. It was a fantastic day for a wedding!

Her flowers were gorgeous (arranged by a friend- I know- stunning!)

Janele looked beautiful!

We started the day at the hydro building- I'm not sure if I just has never noticed before- but the fountains were lit by purple lights (and matched the wedding party!)

And then off to my most favorite hallway at the Legislative building. Perfect, simple, traditional backdrop for couple photos.

She also had an amazing veil- worn by her mother 32 years before and her grand mother 32 years before that! Now that is amazing history. She wore it beautifully!

I really do have some of the best clients in the world! Some new faces, but mostly familiar ones. I wish I could dedicate a post to all of you- but as always, I spent late November doing way too much. I hope to see you all in 2012- watching people unite, families grow and meeting new little ones is THE.BEST part of this job.

Brenda and Mike- where to even begin to describe the day. I think this was a wedding that was really unique in some ways (a wedding of firsts for me- and after this long in the business that is hard to accomplish). It was the first time that I had ever been handed a great big syringe filled with a jello shot at a beauty salon :), it was the first time that the bridesmaids ever wore their flowers as arm wraps (super cool!) It was the first time I was ever at a wedding reception yet was drawn to the kids room to watch a magician put on a show for all the little wedding guests (Brenda and Mike made sure everyone was entertained!) Also the first time I had seen anything like their wedding cake annnnd the first time I ever had sushi (and the.best sushi) at a wedding ever!

Flowers were gorgeous- via Monica- bright and colorful.

After the first look we snapped a few chilly pics at Harbourveiw park. Not one complaint from the bride about the weather!

Then off to Red River-

These little girls were perfect! I could have taken photos of them all day long

All of the boys were looking great too!

And the cake- some of the bestest layer toppers ever!! They even matched their wedding party counterparts!! So cute!

Congratulations Brenda and Mike- Brenda, I know you have an undying love for letting me take your photo (heehee- not!) So I betcha that you just can't wait to watch a slide show starring YOU! :)

Incredibly behind on posting, I am afraid that most sessions didn't make the blogging cut SOOOO if it was still left on my hard drive this morning before I backed up and wiped them away for more space, I thought I'd post a little taste of each. In no particular order and a few for now until I have time to do a second post of session highlights.

To round out on of our last weddings of the year. Elizabeth and Michael's day went off without a hitch. It was a perfect combination of lots of time, beautiful details, very cute kids, nice indoor locations and the.best.dinner I think I can say I had all this year!

Lida from 'A Dream Wedding....' did such gorgeous flowers for the wedding. I loved Stephanotis flowers the in the ivory bouquet. It was super nice!

Of course we made our way to the Legislative Building- a perfect opposite to the Red River Campus where we started our day.

Despite being our first November wedding of the year, the weather was nicer than most of our October events (go figure that's Winnipeg weather for you!) What an absolutely jam packed house that I arrived to- big girls, little girls, hair dressers, makeup artists.... there was s definite buzz in the air- totally exciting and wonderful. I love a morning that is set up like Kelsey's- absolutely perfect without the hussle bussle from one place to another!

After some quick family photos outside the search (in front of the only tree that had leaves- ha!) We headed to Level 3 studios and did a ton of photos. The girls made that couch look the hawtest ever and the couple photos were great. Kelsey's veil was perfect and long and dramatic and made for some gorgeous photos. I loved it.

And of course, as the day rolled on the temperatures dipped a little but those gals were troopers- some exchange photos out front eh King's Head Pub. What a bunch of gorgeous ladies!

These cupcakes- smelled so good- some of the nicest most scrumptious looking treats I have ever seen at a wedding!

And of course another wonderful candy buffet from the Sweetness Buffet! Ashley always does an awesome job!

And then there were these Dragon Dancers- not only was this the first time I had ever seen this in real life, because I was the photographer I had the opportunity to get super close- it was AMAZING! I can't explain how these dancers have the ability to completely transform a furry costume into something that seems soooo real! From the blinking eyes, to the opening mouths. I was blown away. Definitely an AWESOME lifetime first.

Enrica and Roman- Married

On a rainy morning which gave way to a wonderful overcast day, Nicole and I took the short drive to Steinbach to meet Enrica on the morning of her wedding. There were so many wonderful people that touched our lives that day. The tale of how Roman and Enrica came to be together, the beautiful home we were in, the smiles on every one's faces and just the way that we felt welcomed to share in the occasion- some times we just NEED a wedding like this one. :)

As the seasons start to change and grow colder in the next few months, we are going to be shooting in a lot of indoor locations, which can be a nice change. On the morning of the wedding we shot inside the Legislative Building and even with the cooler temps. we even took some outdoor photos!

And the decor! Who needs a wedding planner when you have a sister like Lilli! I was really blown away by the little details and couldn't tell Lilli enough how wonderful she had been for organizing and decorating. So much so, that I couldn't even do it justice in the photos. Lilli REALLY had an effect on us, I think we both went home and started to organize and decorate in our homes. Nicole and I have said countless time "That Lilli has done a number on us" :)

Congratulations Enrica and Roman- sometimes you can just FEEL the love- it was one of those days. Thank You for letting us share it with you. I have posted a small slide show of the day below.

Amanda and Mike

Although I may have arrived frazzled in search of power outlets to recharge after the wind storm the evening before left me without electricity - the atmosphere the morning of Amanda and Mike's wedding was so laid back and wonderful (but I know it would be!) With hair and makeup in a great hospitality room at the Victoria Inn, it was a perfect flawless morning.

Amanda and her girls all looked absolutely wonderful- I love red roses! The weather was close to perfect and with photo locations downtown and also at the English Gardens (tons of falling leaves = perfect) the photos were a breeze!

In past years, I would do "year end" blogging about all the weddings I had done- just something to chronicle "firsts" and things that stood out. I am not sure if this year I will do the same.... but if I did, Becky and Joels' wedding would be labelled the "windiest wedding ever" Definitely memorable! And then, to top off the wind wedding day, Becky's initial facebook preview was via an iPhone and a photo of the back of my camera :-P Having no power here at home after the wedding limited my facebooking abilities!! :)

We shot our photos before the ceremony- and there was only a hint of the ever powerful growing gusts. We used the Homestead at Birdshill park and it was definitely was of the nicest first looks that I ever witnessed in an absolutely gorgeous setting!

What an ultimately gorgeous kind of day- with gorgeous colors, sooo many gorgeous locations, a gorgeous bride and an all around good time. I am a little sad that Anna and Kevin live so far away- but with any luck (hint hint) they will come visiting when they have kids and we can visit Birdshill Park again together for family photos :) I will remember this wedding as the one that started all the Birdshill homestead shoots I have this year :)

On a brisk but gorgeous overcast day, on a beautiful property in a little town that I can't believe I have never been to until then.... Chantel and Macy tied the knot!

Nicole and I LOVED the outing. We visited the Old Pinawa Dam for the first time and wished we could leave our cameras and stay there all day. Being surrounded by the odd snake, and lots of nice people, the day went off without a hitch!

These flowers were beyond stunning!!

Jenna and Jordan- once upon a time I visited them on an island out West and hung out with them for the day and snapped some engagement photos. Just a couple weeks ago they tied the knot in a little small town Manitoba church that her parents wed in years before.

It was a fabulous day- filled with a ton of meaning- lots of little details- everything was perfect!!

We took most of our photos at Boonstra Farms just outside of Stonewall- it was quiet and worked out great!

I was so excited to spend the day with Jen and Alex. Jen is actually the daughter of very good friends of mine Gary and Joan at National Video Services and I was honored when they asked me to shoot the day and nervous all the same! Luckily, the day (even that nasty 100 percent of thunder showers) didn't throw a hitch in our day. Everything was LOVELY! Every detail was perfect. The purple popped. The tears flowed. The food was scrumptious and the candy kept me on an editing buzz all night long :)

The flowers were from A Dream Wedding.... they were perfect!

The bubbles- BEST EVER- it was theat humidity that kept them lingering (and some credit to some awesome bubble blowers who helped the cause!)

Where to start with this post for Melanie and Paul's wedding day. I often tell people how my short term employment at a "retail giant" led in one way or another to so many wonderful clients. Melanie was a seasonal department employee who I always thought was just one of the most beautiful girls around, the kind of girl with the most beautiful smile and THE.BEST hair cuts and styles that I had ever seen. Best of all, for as little as I knew her, she didn't even act like she knew it :)

Paul came sometime later, I'm not sure if I thought he was on a "work exchange" or just a long term visit from England- I'm pretty sure he doesn't remember that I had the pleasure of working a couple shifts with him slinging jugs of milk- mostly I remember that "that bloke could talk and talk" :) Not sure if he knew that most or the store referred to him as "English Paul"

And so I'm not totally sure of the entire story, but I think that they didn't really get together most of the time that he originally landed in our Wal-Mart. I think the story goes that sometime shortly before he was to return home there was a spark. And she visited there and he came back short term here and whatever the heck I missed in the years that came after, it really doesn't matter- because last weekend he slipped a ring on her finger and Melanie became "Mrs. English Paul"

The forecast threatened rain (but doesn't that seem typical for Winnipeg weather these days) but there wasn't a cloud insight- actually, it was the hottest wedding we have had thus far (and not only because of the hot couple and the hawt shoes) ;)

We did all of our photos where the ceremony and reception took place (St. Norbert Heritage Centre) partly because I think it was just too darn hot to go anywhere else :) But mostly because with so many beautiful settings, it was an easy capture.

It was truly one of those picture perfect days! I knew before the big day that this wedding was going to be beautiful. Not only was Sarah stunning, Tyler handsome, the venue one of my favorites, the ceremony outdoors, the shoes colorful and GORGEOUS...I could go on all day but really, after the first time I met Sarah and Tyler I could sense how well this day would be laid out (AND IT WAS!)

The flowers were reds and purples...one of the first times I have seen this combination AND THEY WERE PERFECT!!

The cake was actually one of the nicest that I can ever recall, the detail was just phenomenal.

Congratulations Sarah and Tyler- I had a wonderful day and you were a true pleasure to share the day with!
